Neuropathy, also called chronic traumatic encephalopathy, affects people with chronic pain or other chronic health conditions such as traumatic brain injury.
It’s often thought to be caused either by damage to nerve cells or damage to the nerve endings of the brain, but scientists have struggled to pinpoint exactly what causes neuropathy.
“The brain is one of the most complex structures on the planet and, in many ways, the most fundamental organ in the body,” said Dr. David Katz, a professor of medicine at Johns Hopkins University and a specialist in neurodegenerative diseases.
“In many ways the brain is the single most important organ in your body.”
What causes neuropathic pain?
The brain is very sensitive to external stimuli, and in fact, researchers are now developing a device that could detect changes in brain activity without touching the brain.
One way of detecting this is by recording the electrical activity of nerve cells called axons in the spinal cord.
These axons, which make up your nerve cells, travel between your brain and your spinal cord, and they are thought to have a critical role in controlling the activity of the nerve fibers in your head.
Neuropathy can be triggered by a number of different causes, including a wide variety of physical, chemical, and environmental factors, and can be exacerbated by a range of medications.
For example, neuropathy can also be caused when the nerve that connects your head to your spinal canal is injured.
The injury to the spinal canal, known as an intracranial haemorrhage, is the result of an accident, injury, or surgery.
The brain’s nerves can then contract and twist and turn, and this can cause a pain sensation.
These changes to the brain can cause neuropathy, which can then cause you to experience pain in the area of your brain responsible for your pain response, which is called your trigeminal nerve.
The trigeminate nerve is located in your face, forehead, and cheekbones, and it controls your facial muscles, jaw, and facial muscles of your jaw, neck, and upper lip.
“We can’t really tell you what the trigeminates are doing, but it’s known that when these muscles are stretched too much, they can cause inflammation in your trigmas,” Katz said.
“This inflammation is also known to cause pain in your brain, and that’s why the trigmas are known to be involved in pain in many types of neuropathic conditions.”
In addition to inflammation, a number other causes of neuropathy include: an injury to a blood vessel in the trigma, or the nerve cord that carries blood to your brain
